A high-powered delegation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has visited Nexus College of Nursing Sciences, Katsina, as part of the process to grant approval for the College to commence ND Nursing Sciences programs.
The delegation, which included representatives from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of NIgeria (NMCN) and other key stakeholders, assessed the College’s facilities, academic plans, and level of preparedness to begin the new programs.
Led by Engr. Hamidu Isa Abba, the NBTE team commended the College for its well-structured academic plans, modern teaching and learning facilities, and fully equipped hospital designed to serve as a training hub for students.
Receiving the delegation, the representative of the Proprietor of Nexus College of Nursing Sciences, Dr. Bashir Sani, expressed confidence in the College’s readiness. He noted that all required facilities and resources were already in place to deliver quality training in nursing and midwifery. He further assured the NBTE team that any minor improvements recommended during the visit would be addressed within a few weeks.
Dr. Sani emphasized that the College was committed to meeting all government requirements before admitting its first set of students, hence the significant investments in infrastructure and learning resources.
In his remarks, Engr. Abba praised Nexus College of Nursing Sciences for prioritizing student welfare and academic excellence. He described the College’s facilities as impressive and well-suited for modern nursing and midwifery education.
Among the facilities inspected were:
A fully equipped teaching hospital for practical training.
Numerous modern classrooms furnished with teaching aids.
Digital libraries with computers and up-to-date books.
Free internet access across the campus.
24-hour electricity and running water in all hostels and learning areas.
A vocational skills center to support student development.
A large auditorium, clean hostels, and a modern cafeteria for students.
